Demons A to Z

As I have mentioned soooo many times before, I'll mention it once again: these articles are opinions of people in relation to and regarding demons, and encounters with such. My personal point of view is rather insignificant and I do not express it for the sake of objectivity. So, if you are one of those people who CAN talk to spirits or who HAS been visited by an Incubus/Succubus, please restrain yourself from snapping at me after reading the articles below. However, you must take in consideration the possibilities posed by the authors as likely to be true. With respect to those, and they know who they are, rare individuals who can achieve such situations, most people actually fall under the categories proposed hereafter. Before claiming that you are a "chosen" one of some sort, consider the possibility of just being in a troubled emotional or physical state, more likely demanding medical attention than spiritual.

Experiences with Succubi/Incubi - or demons who are alleged to have sexual intercourse with humans.
By SatansCyberGirl

Many people deny that visitations by Succubi and Incubi are true experiences. Mostly because many people doubt the existence of such an entity capable of such manifestations, but also because the stories are commonly recounted by people with one of the following personality traits:

  • Women and men who are sexually frustrated or frigid.

  • Low self-esteem.

  • Introverted individuals who keep to themselves.

It was noted in studies conducted by modern parapsychologists that many alleged succubi experiences resemble alien abduction cases in the following ways:

  • Not being able to move.

  • Sensations throughout the body resembling sexual intercourse or probing.

  • A visual display of something non-human.

  • A feeling of not being alone.

  • Sensations of floating.

While these experiences have yet to be completely understood by modern science, science has discovered an explanation about how these experiences may manifest themselves within so many people. The culprit is called sleep paralysis. These studies show that a seizure of the frontal lobe of the brain can cause such an experience. People who have experienced such things say it resembles something akin to a waking dream.

What happens in the case of sleep paralysis is the person comes out of REM into a semi-conscious state as the frontal lobe goes into seizure. During the seizure the body is unable to move as if it is frozen. The seizure also causes numerous sensations throughout the body. It has been speculated that retinal signals are somehow sent in reverse, thus causing hallucinations as if the imagination were a projector sending visual imagery from the brain to the eye and tricking the eye into believing the image is real.

Not so scientific is the psychological theory that persons claiming to have encountered a Succubi/Incubi are merely lonely individuals who use the fantasy as an escape from the harsh realities of frigidity and/or poor relationships with the opposite sex. For those with a low self esteem the fact that a supernatural creature would pick them above all other humans can either play up their self esteem or gain them sympathy and attention depending on the opinion of the peer group the individual seeks out to share the experience with. Psychologists suggest that people who have such experiences are also seeking attention because they tend to be introverted without much human interaction in their every day lives. The fantasy interaction substitutes for the missing social outlets that the introvert misses out on and gains them attention from peers and family members. This is also the case in many accounts of Demonic Possession as most Demonic Possession cases tend toward females between the ages of 13 and 35.

Talking to Demons - The Ego Fantasy or Reality?
By S. Connolly

Many people believe in the phenomena of  being able to talk to demonic entities. The methods used to acquire such a response tends to vary however. Some people claim they can channel demons. Others claim such practice is mere tomfoolery.  Still, some people claim they speak to demons through means of divination including, but not limited to, the pendulum, free writing, cards, dice, scrying, and perhaps the most popular method - the Ouija board. Scientists scoff at all of these methods because no concrete proof can be gathered as to their validity. Many psychologists believe that people claiming to channel demons are simply expressing their own alter egos; that the demon is their fantasy of how they wish to appear to others. Talking or being in direct link with a demon suggests to others (in the mind of the communicator) that the person doing the communicating has a direct link to a force malevolent and more powerful than anything in the mundane world. This, in turn, can provoke fear and respect in the peers of the communicator, thus boosting self esteem. Psychologists believe this ego fantasy is a crutch for people with low self esteem and social interaction problems.
