The rune's name: Isa KEY WORDS: ice, frozen over, standstill POSSIBLE DIVINATORY MEANING: When a lake begins to freeze over, you cannot fish from a boat the conventional way or safely walk over the lake. If the lake is frozen solid, you may walk over the ice slowly and carefully. Sooner of later a thaw will come and you can fish again and use a boat in the water. There are many kinds of standstills in one's life situations. In the farthest reaches of the North the year is divided into two halves. Half the year is cold and the other half is warm. The cold half is about 6 months long consisting of ice and snow and it doesn't start to unthaw till Spring. Sometimes in a person's life, there are standstills. We must recognize it for what it is. Take it easy, make the best of it, go slowly or just wait. Sooner or later a thaw will come and we can accomplish that much more when the time is right. What is at a standstill in your life right now? The Isa rune has no other variations. |
