The rune's name: Uruz The wild Auroch, a very ferocious and powerful animal, is now extinct. They once roamed Europe but never England. The surviving Aurochs were last seen in the forests of Poland until 1627. The Auroch became extinct around the 17th century when hunters exhausted their disappearing numbers for their prized horns used as drinking vessels. These drinking vessels were often family heirlooms passed down from family to family. They were often decorated with beautiful carving and ornate silver. The horns represented the essence of the extinct powerful Auroch and were even considered magical.
